I am a babyboomer and have spent the last seven years building a dynamic, high impact organization that relies heavily on Millennials. Bosche's insights and observations in 5 Millennial Myths map nearly 100% over my direct experience in these efforts. Since we are in a higher education environment, we experience substantial churn in our employment by the nature of the student life cycle. I have seen scores of Millennials in different capacities over work cycles that have lasted from one semester to three or more years. I highly recommend Bosche's accessible, easy to read book and applaud her efforts to reach out across generations to help frame work environments that allow us to maximize the potential of this generation.Product details

5 Millennial Myths The Handbook For Managing And Motivating Millennials eBook Gabrielle Bosche Reviews
This book is a good read but definitely nothing to be taken seriously, especially in the workplace. I bought this book hoping to get some ideas to help me at work because my team is primarily made up of Millennial-aged people. For the most part I have to say that I really did not learn many new things from this book. I do agree with the premise that people want to feel like they are making a contribution and are valued (however these are not unique to millennials). I could have lived without all the "little digs" directed at baby boomers (especially when making comparisons). I do agree we can learn a great deal from the Millennials, I have raised three. I must admit that people report back to me that my millennials have wonderful work ethic, are sympathetic toward other, have great people skills and manage to communicate well with all age groups. I did buy an extra copy of the book to send to my son (a millennial) who has managed several restaurants and has hired a lot of millennials...he said he enjoyed reading the book, and laughed as he added that it was baloney. The other copy is making its rounds with family members and friends. I will say I wish I had purchased it on , before going to hear the speaker as it would have saved 1/3 of the cost. .
Gabrielle has opened the doors to invite the rest of us to interact with the Millennial generation. She explains what works and what does not.
A Great book packed with vital information.
I hate being called a Millennial because I feel it either discredits me in the professional workplace or stereotypes me with a group of people I don’t always associate myself with. That being said, I loved this book. It was an easy read with concrete ideas to develop better working relationships with my older colleagues. I’d encourage any manager of Millennials to read this book and for any young professional to read it as well. The book put words to some of my frustrations in the work place and also gave suggestions on how to improve some of my shortcomings.
